I wanted to get some feedback about this man and his family. The following information I am interested in knowing your thoughts. First, It seems that there is some confusion about whether his middle initial is V or W. I think I may be able to clear that up. On the 1850 census, it shows to be "W.", and his surname appears to be spelled BOISDEN. As we all know, many records are a mixture of poor handwriting and poor spelling. However, I have the original page of Bible Records that was once owned by Penelopy Taylor Hardman. Penelopy is the granddaughter of George and Penelopy Baisdon. Her mother was Sarah M. Baisdon and more than likely the Bible was handed down from George and Penelopy to Sarah M. then to Sarah's daughter Penelopy Hardman. In the records, the surname is spelled BAISDON, and George's middle initial is "V". Second, many researchers have George as being married twice. First to a Tabbattha Unknown, and then second to Penelopy Taylor. I do not believe that George was married twice. I believe that his only wife was Penelopy and Tabbattha was his mother. My reason is that the Bible record also has Tabbatha listed. The records show: Tabbatha Ann Baisdon was born May 25, 1781 Tabbatha Ann Baisdon died April 28, 1845 If you will notice, this woman was 25 years old when George V. Baisdon was born. For that reason, I believe that she is his mother and not his first wife. Although George is mentioned in the Bible, his birth and death is not but he is listed as age 44 in 1850, thus making his birth year 1806. Third, I have noticed that several researchers have the children of George and Penelopy and being the children of George and Tabbatha. I believe they all belong to George and Penelopy because of my belief that Tabattha (Tabatha) is not George's wife but mother. Best Wishes, Mary
