John Smith Baisden, b.1763,Holland, came to America with LaFayette and fought in the Revolutionary War, lived in VA, Floyd Co., KY, and finally settled in Logan/Mingo Co., WVA. He married Rhoda Branham (1775)in 1795 in VA. Rhoda was the daughter of David Branham (b.1733)and Frances Basket. John Smith and Rhoda had five children:
Joseph - 1794 m. Lucindey Osbourn
Polly - 1798 m. John Smith Blair
Solomon - 1800 m. Mary Chafin
Edward - 1804 m. Susan Barnett
Frances - 1805 m.Thomas Copley
I am descended from Polly Baisden and John Smith Blair(1798?) married May 5, 1822 in KY. I have more information on this family and am hoping to add more from other researchers. Are any of these your family?
