I'm descended from John Bainbridge's sister Mary (1809-1877), who married John Ireland in 1829 at Morland, Westmorland. Their children were baptized at Newton Reigny, Cumberland, and in 1850, they emigrated to Ripley, New York, where he bought a farm. I've been in touch with an Australian descendant of William Bainbridge, so I have some information.John's parents were John and Eleanor (Little) Bainbridge, and Eleanor and her son George Bainbridge went to join the daughter Mary in the U.S., in 1855, and Eleanor died in 1864 and is buried in the Quincy Cemetery, Ripley, NY. Her gravestone is now gone, but in the '60s, it still existed. I don't know what happened to John Bainbridge, Sr.I don't think any of the rest of the family came to live near the Irelands. My internet access is at work and my notes at home, so I'll have to try to remember to bring something to send you.Paul Gifford
