Hello Hamish. I am sorry I have not contacted you sooner. I have been busy with school and home projects brought on by the weather.
This is what I have. I received a reply letter from Mark Sutherland - Fisher the (at that time) immediate past president of the Clan Sutherland Historical Society in Scotland.
I had inquired about my relation Colonel James Sutherland. He responded by sending me the letter which states that James married Elizabeth BAillie and together they had seven children.
I am descended from two of his Children. The first solid line is through his daughter Catherine. The second which has recently had some doubt cast upon it is by his son William.
William is an interesting case because some believe he died in his infancy.
Catherine married a William Gunn and together they had a daughter named Margaret Gunn who is supposed to have married the aforementioned William Sutherland (interesting)
