Looking for info on the following. William BAILLIE, born about 1783 in New Monkland, Lanarkshire. William married Margaret DOWNS (born 16 Aug. 1794 in Shotts, Lanarkshire) in June, 1812 in New Monkland. They had the following family, all born in Shotts except Mary, the first child who was born in New Monkland.
Mary, b. Sept. 1813 (married Robert WARK)
Margaret, b. Sept. 1815
Bethea, b. June 1817
Janet, b. Aug. 1819 (married John WARK)
Helen, b. June 1821
William, b. Nov. 1823 (married Mary BROWNLEE?)
John, b. Apr. 1826
Jane, b. Aug. 1828 (married John MUNN)
Agnes, b. Sept. 1830
Archibald Downs, b. Mar. 1833
James, b. July 1835
This family lived at Bankhead Farm, Shotts, in the 1851 Census. Jane (1828) moved to Cumbernauld, Dunbartonshire when she married in 1856. I think she had a child before marriage, named Margaret Baillie ABBY (or ABLE).
