I am trying to trace ancestors of my grandfather William Baillie. Born around 1910-1915,in Belfast,N.Ireland. He married Margaret Stewart,my grandmother, when he was around 17yrs old. He died in 1986 in belfast, they had four children,Margaret,Jean,Anne, and my father Robert.
He was a gunner sergeant with the Royal Artillery Regiment. They lived in Kyle Street,Sydenham,Belfast. He worked in the Ropeworks in East Belfast as a boiler man until he was 70 yrs of age and died of asbestos lung cancer as a result.
Apparently, there was a fire @ the Public Records Office in Dublin, that's where his records would have been.
Can anyone help as to how I could trace or if they have any information,I would be grateful, thankyou,Tracey.
