I am seeking details of my Great Grand Father, John Baillie, born in Durham England between 1869 and 1871.
It is not known when he arrived in Australia or the identity of his parents.
It is known that he married, Caroline Baldwin on the 17th March, 1893 in St Stephens Church of England Hamilton NSW.
He worked on the Goldfields in Bendigo (Vic) in 1897 through to 1902. He and my Great Grandmother returned to Newcastle around 1902, it is believed he then found work as a coal miner in the Newcastle area.
It is also known that there were six children from the marriage, their names are as follows:
Joseph - Grace - Jack - Charlie and Jean who were born in Newcastle, Gladys was born in Bendigo
