Lillian M. Bailie, 90, VA/GA, obituary
Lillian M. Bailie, precious Mother and best friend, 90, of
St. Charles, VA, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008 in
Lawrenceville, GA. She was a lifelong resident of Lee
County and a former member, and Sunday School Teacher of
The First Christian Church of St. Charles.
Born September 29, 1917, she was a homemaker, and an
employee of Lee County Community Hospital for 14 years.
Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mammy,
great grandmother, and dear and loyal friend to all who
knew her. She was truly a virtuous woman who always
extended her hand to any in need. Strength and honor was
her clothing and her children arise and call her blessed,
a woman who fears the Lord and is worthy to be praised.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John W.
Bailie; an infant son, Tommy; son-in-law, Carl Griffith;
and grandaughter, Carla Kelley.
She is survived by one son, Wesley Joe Bailie of Eaton,
OH; three daughters, Iva Joan Griffith of Okeechobee, FL,
Reida Gale Sorah, of Lawrenceville, GA, and Lana Pamela
Hall of Ewing, VA; two sisters, Sheila Williams, Cleveland,
OH, Victoria Teague of Churubusco, IND; a brother, John
Siler Partin of Middlesboro, KY; nine grandchildren, four-
teen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Family will recieve friends on Thursday, July 31, from
6 to 9 p.m. at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1,at
2 p.m. in the Methodist Church in St. Charles with Rev.
Roy Corbin officiating.
Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
Mrs. Bailie will be taken to the church one hour pryor to
services. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Steve Griffith,
Tommy Griffith, Michael Bailie, Darrell Sorah, John Sorah
and great grandson, Christopher Kelley. Two Honorary
Pallbearers, Darrell Sorah, Sr, and Noel Hall.
