Seeking information on Larkin Bailes born in SC in 1805 alleged son of Burrell and Elizabeth Bailes. Larkin married Susan Dempsey and they resided in Randolph County, Alabama in 1850 later moving to Blount County, Alabama.

In old Dempsey records Larkin is listed as Larkin Bailes but in later years he is listed as Larkin Bales. I don't know when or why he dropped the "i"out of Bailes.

Any information will be appreciated.
