4-8-1856 Thomas Bailes vs. Mary Wickum, et al. Filed 12-17-1855. Thomas Bailles father of Thomas Bailes on 5-10-1837
was seized of S1/2 SW1/4 Sex. 32, Twp 7, Range 8 being land sold in Zanesville Land
district, said land formerly lying in Monroe Co., now in Noble Co consisting of 82.40 acres. Said father, Thomas Bailes with
wife Susannah did sell said land to son, Thomas Bailes and made deed, but a mistake was made in the description of land. Said
petition is now filed to correct mistake. Thomas Bailes (Sr.) died in 1843. Children:
petitioner, son Thomas Bailes; Mary late Balis of Iowa widow of Bernard R. Wickhum, who is now dead; Sarah late Balis,
wife of Henry Rauser of Kansas Terretory; Susanna late Balis of Iowa widow of George Rursey, who is now dead; Desire, late
Balis wife of John Browning, residence unknown; Margaret late Balis wife of Charles Hoggins (or Haggins); Elmyra late Balis
wife of Morgan Hickman; Lucinda late Balis, now dec'd, in her lifetime wife of Cyrus metheney, her children -- Andrew,
Thomas, Rachel and Cyrus Matheney, Nancy Ann late Matheney wife of Frederick Lemum and Samantha late Methaney wife
of William Alltop.
