In Reply to: Why so few Bahama's Internet sites? by Yolanda Rotondo of 2090

Read your question regarding the scarcity of internet sites in the Bahamas. I have no facts to support my statement (this is only my opinion) but as a Bahamian, I feel that it is possible that there are - relatively speaking - very few home computers available and those that are available, may be used primarily for school. Who knows, the idea of surfing the net may not have really taken root there yet, since basically those of the "computer age" are seriously involved in studies/academics, therefore, any time spent on the computers would be of a more practical/purposeful nature. That is not to say, however, that there are not those who may be skilled enough to design/develop websites for individual use. Personally I feel that the proliferation of home pc's for the average joe is still a bit in the offing.

Just one woman's opinion.
