Hi my name is Sonia Grant of the Bahamas. I am currently trying to research my family tree. I live on the island of Grand Bahama. I know that my father and grandfather were both born in the Turks & Caicos Islands and migrated to the Bahamas in 1959. I know that my great great grand father's name is John Grant. We were told that he was from Scotland and moved to the Bahamas along with some other brothers (2-4). We were told that he moved to the Turks & Caicos Islands where he settled down. I have yet to visit the depatment of archives in Nassau, Bahamas to confirm dates. The records of births & deaths for the Turks & Caicos Island were held in Nassau, Bahamas for the period we are searching for. I hope we can link our families !!!!!!!! I wanted to know if records of british territories are kept in Scotland. This would be most helpful to my search.

There are other Grants here in the Bahamas that I am not really related to however I will make inquiries and see if anyone you mentioned are in any of their roots.

Thanks for your assistance.

Where are you located?
