Relatives of Emily Smith- moved to Miami

Is anyone related to the former Emily Smith. She married an American man and her named was changed to Emily Stroman. Her family is related to the actor Sidney Poitner. Sidney, changed his last name from Porter to Pointer. If you have any information on family in the islands please let me know. I am really lost about my family history.
