Hi, Heather
I had the exact same problem finding vital statistics on my Greatgrandfather Thomas Johnson, and his wife Charlotte Bethel, m.1830. I finally found what I believe is the correct place to get birth, marriage and death records for all of the Bahamas. It is in Nassau. Registrar General, P.O.Box N532, Nassau, Bahamas, (242)322-3316. They say they have birth & death records from Jan. 1850 to present, and marriage from Jan 1799 to present. I found it by going to a search engine and typing in Abaco, Bahamas, Caribbean vital records. Thomas & Charlotte are listed in familysearch.com as from the island of Abaco. Hope it helps. Let me know. Have a good day. Ted E. Johnson, Jr.
