My husband's grandfather was a lighthouse keeper in Abaco, I believe, but I think the original McDonald was a school teacher from Scotland. Besides Cherokee, there were McDonalds in Hopetown, Abaco, but Malcolms and Butlers are usually associated with Harbour Island.
