My grandmother, Elvira Letita Kelly was born in the Current Settlement, Eleuthera on March 27, 1871. Her parents were James and Charlotte nee Griffin Kelly. Elvira had two brothers Robert Henry Kelly born on September 29, 1862 and James William Kelly born on November 21, 1860 and two sisters, Edith Alethia born on Feburary 23, 1873, and Alberta Kelly birth date unknown. Elvira and Edith were married at St.Lukes Church in the Current Village in 1898 and emigrated to Key West soon after.

James Kelly died in 1874 on Eleuthera and his wife Charlotte moved to Key West in 1902.

I am still searching for information on the Kelly's who remained on Eleuthera. James had one brother, William V. Kelly but I have been unable to find any information on him.

I hope this info can help you in your research.
