Thrilling Bahamas Job Interview at 1MaidHK.com's office

Our month-long advertisement for an excellent Bahamas job order finally came to an end. The response was extremely overwhelming. There were a total of 13 interested applicants, a whooping increase of 225% in applicants over our first Bahamas job order.

The increase in number of applicants shows that a growing number of domestic helpers working in Hong Kong want to provide a better future for their family by seeking a job abroad, some wanted a change of working environment after working in Hong Kong for many years and others would like to work shorter number of working hours as opposed to working almost 16 hrs a day in Hong Kong. To some applicants who lack 72 units or graduate with high school diploma only, this was a golden opportunity not to be missed. In fact, a huge number of high school graduate applicants tried their luck this time. The high number of applicants also shows trust and confidence of applying through a reliable employment agency like World Champ who has proven track record in Bahamas placement.

Before the live video interview with the Bahamas employer took place, we started off by taking souvenir photos of all applicants and finally announced the 5 short-listed applicants who will undergo the thrilling experience of video interview with potential employer and also be able to speak and see the employer face to face thru video cam. According to many applicants, the excitement of being able to join the finalist was almost the same as in joining a beauty pageant.

Here are some interview questions which were raised among the applicants :
1) How many children do you have ?
2) Do you like party ?
3) Does your HK employer knows you're applying to work in Bahamas ?
4) What food do you like to cook ?
5) Do you know how to cook Chinese food ?
6) How long do you want to work with us if you're hired ?
7) What do you normally do during your day-off ?
8) Are you a happy person or moody person ?
9) If you're not in the Philippines, who will look after your child ?
10) Do you want to do gardening ?
11) Do you love to work with other ethnic groups ?

This new Bahamas job order was the 3rd consecutive placement within a year. The first two was for Nassau, Bahamas and Free Port Grand Bahama placement respectively. For this new job order in Nassau, Bahamas, the employer is a Scottish couple who are in their 60's and 70's and both are very healthy. They have lived in the Bahamas for a very long time and has became Bahamas citizen many years ago.

When asked why they hire their live-in housekeeper through our agency in Hong Kong, the employer replied : "Bahamians just do not like to be live-in maids. The vast majority of domestics are foreigners, many of them Filipinos, quite a few Peruvians (who sometimes do not speak English), and I assume there must be a mixture of other nationalities, including some Jamaicans. There is no particular reason why we hire Filipinos in Hong Kong, other than that your agency (World Champ International Employment Agency) is based in Hong Kong. There are agencies in the Philippines also".

"The reason why I use your agency is because your agency service is very superior to any others we have heard of or have used ourselves. You respond exceptionally promptly to all communications and every aspect of your service is clearly highly efficient", Mr. Charles Fernie (Bahamas employer) commented.
