Try the Library of Congress website under American Memory. Search for Roberts and you will find several listings for Wilbur Edward Roberts. The WPA did interviews with him in the 1930's for a Florida Folklife project. There are written transcripts and even MP3 recordings of his voice telling little stories and Bahamian songs. Very interesting. I listened to them because my family comes from Roberts also. Different branch but same time period and places so I figured his accent would be very similar. Hope this helps.
