EFFIE LETTER TRANSCRIPT

Dearest Ricka
just had a long but interesting letter from Hilda, all about family- you, Carrie, Muriel, and her sons. She is very proud of Robin and wanted me to tell him about the Dorset family. All I know is the Duke or Earl of Dorset came to Virginia in the 1600s
in charge of Viginia Plantations. Grandfather Joseph Lake Dorset was born in Charelston S.C. His Father was Capt George Dorset lisensed by the crown to attack the enemy on the Seas. The family had many military men and clergy. I suggested perhaps Lambeth Palace London could help. It seemed to me that it is the home of the clergy.
Tracing ancestry is difficult. I recall this Dorset coat of arms and crest very similar to South Carolina's. Captain Dorsets first wife was "Bridget" .His second Mary was Joseph Lake Dorset's mother and she had several daughters, Susan, Grace
Will has been ill 4 years heart and asthma I quit to be with him and we cant afford the nurses $46 for 8 hours.
Love
Effie
