Lady Mary Catherine Gray stated in the Census for Howell Twp., Monmouth Co., NJ in 1860 that she was born on Great Abaco Island, Bahamas, West Indies about 1783. Her father was an English lord and slave trader. She had a sister, Elizabeth Gray, who testified against her in a York Co., ME court. She married George Marriner in Newington, Rockingham Co., NH in 1825. They had a ferry that went from Kittery, Maine to Falmouth, Maine in the 1830's and 40's. They settled in Ardena, Howell Twp., Monmouth Co., NJ. They bought a store and turned it into a tavern, living above it.
Any information helpful.
