Thank you for putting into words what I'm sure many of us are feeling. I am unable, because of 'living family' problems and inaccessability to records to do much research. I rely on what little information is available at the local FHL and online sources. I am more tham willing to share what information I have collected to date. If any other Baham researcher is interested in Marriage information, the following films are available for rent at the Family History Library:
General Index to Marriages film # 1463132
this covers 1811-1967
Marriage Records v.1-3 1/2 # 1463133
Marriage licenses, bonds
file no. 1-2 1812-1858 #1463136
file no. 2-4 1843-1898 #1463137
Marriage Record v. 1
1920-1922 #1463138
Marriage license applications
1912-1917 #1463138
item 2-5
1917-1919& 1923-1928 #1463139
these are found under Louisiana, St. Tammany- Vital records /Church records
I do have a photo copy of the index listings for Bahams, dated from 1827 -1967 if anyone is interested, please e-mail.I also have tombstone transcriptions for the Madisonville Catholic cemetery. Hope this helps.
