what are the origins of bagot ?

Hello,

I'm french and my english is not .. fluent.
When surfing on the web, I was surprised that there was some Bagot in Canada, USA and England.

I know nothing of the origins of Bagot in America. In France, the name Bagot is essentially localized in "Bretagne" (what's the name in english ??,i guess Little Brittania or something like that) and more precisely in 2 regions: "Les cotes d'armor" and in "Ille-et-Vilaine". Far in the past,
the people of Bretagne were peasants or sailors. Therefore, it'd be intersting to know if there is some links between the bagot of England and France, and where the bagot of America come from (from one of these 2 countries, or from the two countries, or elsewhere ??)

Have you some informations about that ?
Thanks
Philippe
