Hi Ron. I am looking for Bagnall's in Greater London but I took a look for your group. Not sure from your post if you have this information already:this is the 1881 census:

I also took a look at www.familysearch.org and found three John Bagnall's born the right time frame in Lancashire. The one born in Manchester had parents: Edward and Mary, there was also one born in Liverpool who had parents William and Tabitha.
