Gillian D. Bagley Winslett was my gggreat grandmother. She was the daughter of William and Agnes Clements Bagley. Gillian was born 1802 in South Carolina. She married Johnathan Winslett June 11, 1818 in Greene County, Ga. Johnathan and Gillian (Gilly) were the parents of 11 children. Grandma Gilly was a midwife. She carried a big black bag when she went to deliver a baby. Children, not knowing where babies came from, would sing a little song when they saw her coming. It went;

"Here comes Aunt Gilly with a baby in the sack."

Maybe there is a connection between us. Let's try to see. Do you know where your Bagleys originated from?

Susan Winslett
Putnam County, Ga.
