The Montgomery County Genealogy book has mistakenly listed Ann BAGGS as Ann BOGGS. I CAN PROVE THIS. I refer to the Ann Baggs who married John Belcher. I, personally, can testify that on the microfilm of the original marriage record, which I sent for from Utah, the name is CLEARLY "BAGGS" - NOT BOGGS. If anyone can help to explain this confusion, I would be very grateful. In another place she is listed as the daughter of William B.Baggs and Elender Oller, which I believe is accurate, but her birthdate most likely is not 1866 as listed. Her birthdate was 1856. Look at the marriage date of William B. and Elender. Now look at the birthdate of the first child and all the others. There's almost 10 years before the birthdate of the first child. There is something totally inaccurate about all this. What about the marriage of Elender to Mr. Ernst during the Civil War. This would indicate that the children listed for Wm B. and Elender are actually the children of Mr. Ernst and Elender wouldn't it?
I was told that there was an earlier set of Elender's children. They would be the BAGGS children (as I mentioned before) and Ann Baggs was one of them. If I'm wrong, please, please, please show me....
