I am pretty sure that the Alexander Baggs that you are referencing is really Alexander Beggs. Some of his offspring used the Baggs name, in fact Agnes is listed in the VA marriages twice, once as Beggs and the other as Baggs. The children and marriage are right. His son Thomas is one of my grandfathers. I have researched this family in Rockbridge County quite extensively. Thomas married Ann Whitley.

Agnes married Jacob Hickman
Mary married John Hamilton
John married Hannah Thomas
Charles married Dorothy Trumbo
Margaret married Jacob Susong
Sarah married Samuel Whitley
David married Isabella Scott
