The estimate of the children of John Baggett, 1750-1805, Jackson County, Ga., came from my correspondence with the late Major John A. Baggett of Lacey's Spring, Ala. He sent me his conclusions in the late 1970s and early 1980s before his death and before he could publish his research and that of his grandfather, Dr. Malcolm Baggett, who studied the family a century ago. I have been unable to contact John's widow and do not know what happened to his papers.

Barton Baggett is shown on tax lists of Pulaski County, Ga., 1809-12, along with Thomas (Choice) Baggett, Lewis Baggett, Nicholas Baggett and John Baggett (Jr.). I don't have any knowledge of what happened to Barton, who seems to disappear after 1812. Lewis and Nicholas moved to Covington County, Ala., c. 1819, and Thomas Choice moved in 1818 to Conecuh County, Ala.
