abraham III or abram as he went by was married to lucy williams (1754-1801) it is believed she is buried in the edgecombe sc area. abram is buried in conecuh county, it was told the baggett cemetary was destroyed and lost. there is an old baggett cemetary in castleberry for jesse baggett and his decendants. jesse while related is not one of abrams sons. jesse is the one who was married to zilla tippins godwin. they are both buried in marked graves in castleberry< (ihave photos of their graves) nicholas granberry was a son of abram and he married elizabeth (betsy) emmons, they had 8 sons and 3 daughters. nicholas and betsy graves are known but are on private property and they will not let people go there. the gravestones are now unreadable. i have located a son of nicholas that has been missed by many. my gg grandfather was william marion (1842-1920) baggett, the second child and oldest son by many accounts. our family history has always stated that nicholas lost 2 sons in the civil was. william was horribly wounded at chickamauga, his brother george died at chattanooga (1844-1863). the other sons were 2 young to have fought so i thought it was just a mixup with the wounding for dying. i got a copy of the emmons family bible and it clearly show the oldest child as sarah (1837) and the oldest son as jesse (1839-1863) it appears he died in the invasion of kentucky. i have confirmed him also by census data as well, so nicholas did loose 2 sons in the war. i have a great deal more of data on this so caled (lost baggett tribe as maury called us.
