I received the following from the sons of Mr. Maury Baggett whose site on the Baggett/Bagot Family has been referenced on this site many times. If you have questions about the Baggett Family and haven't reviewd his web site please do. You will find helpful information he has gathered over the years and I'm sure it will be of service in tracing your family.
We are so sorry to learn of Maury's passing. He will be missed by all. His site and knowledge and hard work made him the foremost patrarch of the Baggett family and its allied familes. Maury was both family and friend to all who knew him.
"This message is an automated reply to your message, on behalf of our father, Maury Baggett.
Dad passed away in 2009. We eventually located and gained access to his active email and web hosting accounts in order to respond to those attempting to contact him. He still receives a good number of messages and we felt this auto-responder was the best way to let everyone know.
As you can imagine we are terribly saddened to lose him, and we know many of those with whom he corresponded will miss him, too. Nevertheless, we know he's better off now.
He wanted to keep the Baggett History website (http://www.baggetthistory.com) online, and thanks to your help and generous donations, we expect to be able to keep it there for the foreseeable future for everyone to enjoy and learn about our ancestry. Any further contributions will go toward that cause.
Thanks to everyone who contributed, both monetarily and for all the encouragement and kind words you gave him. Your support helped him a great deal.
