BAGGETT John and James, looking for father of

Looking for father of John and James Baggett. John(1845 - 20Nov1940) Montgomery County Tennessee) and James' (1842-?)(BMontgomery County, Tn and D Dickinson COunty Tn?) mother was DICY BAGGETT (1818-1877) daughter of MICAJAH BAGGETT.

DICY BAGGETT was married in Montgomery County Tn on 28MAY1840 to an ELEANEA? MILLER. However no record outside the 1840 US census and Marriage Record for E. MILLER. I believe he divorced, left, or died between (1840-1842)

John Baggett in later years said his father was THOMAS BAGGETT a pioneer from NC. No record exist of him.

My grandfather recalled JOHN BAGGETT recalling ine time that his father was actually a CAUSEY. I have also heard that his father may have been a RYE.

Because of the dark/reddish completions of JOHN and his son Louis Powell BAGGETT and nicknames: Red and Chief respectively. I tend to think the father could have been native american or African American. I was wondering if anyone heard rumors like that or have actual records.

Any info would be greatly appreciated
