I think that my family must not have existed before 1847. My great grandfather was williams archie bagget he was born in 1847, strong possibilty in sampson county or it could have been in cumberland county or wayne county since they border each other. he married delia godwin in wayne county sometime in the 1860's. i have the date somewhere in all of my papers. William archie had several children that lived in sampson county, my grandfather james addision who was nicknamed shad was one of them. James addison had several brothers and sisters, one of his brothers was frank who moved to georgia and his youngest sister was Myrtle starling, He also had a brother named Edgar. I remember Aunt myrtle, because as a an adult I had a chance to visit her when she was in a nursing home in sampson county. I can trace my family line from 1847 forward. I do have some verbal history that indicates that william archie's father was more than likely a man named John and that his wife's name was martha matilda or it could have been matilda. My aunt Mary Banks gave me information out of her family bible. I met with a gentleman several years ago and he said that william archie was raised by the barefoot family. something happened to cause the children to live with other people and it seems like someone told me that his wife died and he needed help with the children. if this is true, I don't know. My anut Mary told me that william archie had 3 siblings, one of those siblings was named martha, but she could not remember the other names. I have searched everywhere to find that link i need to william archie. I think if I could verify william archie's fathers name and grandfather;s name, it would link me to the rest of my family history. IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME CONTACT INFORMATION OR OTHER INFORMATION I WOULD APPRECIATE. I really would like to finish this line before I get to old to remember the things I have been told.
