Martha Ann Baggett (b. 1849 possibly in Georgia, d. 1918 in Clay County, Alabama) was raised by Garret L. and Sarah Craft. She was listed with them in the 1860, Randolph County, Alabama census. Garret and Sarah were 27 and 26 years old with no children. In 1870, they are found in DeKalb County, Georgia, still just the three of them, no other children.

In November of 1870, Martha Ann Baggett married Jesse Garrett Craft, nephew of Garret L. Craft, in DeKalb County, Georgia.

The story goes that two of Jesse Garrett's brothers had married two sisters and Jesse was seeing a third sister. His mother decided she didn't want any more daughter in laws from that family and sent Jesse to stay with his uncle, Garrett in Georgia. (Jesse lived in Randolph County, Alabama.) Jesse and Martha Ann fell in love and married.

Martha Ann's mother is said to be a Phillips.

I can't find Martha Ann on the 1850 census. Does anyone know who her parents were? What happened to them?
