Loretta L. (Baer) Cook, 93, formerly of 45 Larch St., died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in Oakdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Boylston, after an illness. Her husband of 38 years, Robert G. Cook, died in 1992.

She leaves a sister, Corinne Gebhardt and her husband, Ernest, of Clinton; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Three brothers, Charles, Curtis and Everett Baer, and six sisters, Annie Taubner, Elizabeth Pletschke, Flora Stoebel, Katherine Quinn, Thekla Baird, and Doris Pedroli, predeceased her.

Loretta was born and raised in Clinton, the daughter of John G. and Christianna (Ittner) Baer, and was a life-long resident. She attended local schools.

For many years before her retirement, she worked at the former Phoenix Plastics Co. of Clinton.

She was a member of the United Church of Clinton and enjoyed crochet. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler.

Loretta's funeral service will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Loretta to UMass Memorial Hospice, c/o UMass Memorial Foundation, PO Box 2795, Worcester, MA 01613-9938, or to the United Church of Clinton, 109 Haskell Ave., Clinton, MA 01510.
