Ben BAIR, age 40, and his wife, Sarah BAIR, age 39, both born in Germany, appear in Toledo, Lucas county, Ohio in the 1880 census. Their children, all born in Ohio, are: Sam BAIR, age 13 Solamon BAIR, age 11 Dave BAIR, age 8 Minnie BAIR, age 3 I have reason to believe that this family is the same as the one found in the 1900 census in Cleveland, Cuyahoga county, OH headed by the widowed Sarah BAER. In the 1900 listing are: Minnie BAER, b. May 1877, Ohio (same age as in the 1880) Rita BAER, b. Nov 1881, Ohio Yalah BAER, b. July 1883, Ohio Jay BAER, b. Nov 1886, Ohio Sarah BAER claims in this census report to have had seven children, six of whom are still living. Everyone except Dave <1872> is found mentioned elsewhere; he may be the one child who died. This began as a search for my husband's gr-grandmother's family (see my message on this forum re: Minnie Baer in July 2006) but it has taken on a life of its own. I'm not even sure that this family is related to my husband's but this information may help someone. For that reason, I'm going to post everything found so far. If you have any info on this family, especially if you know of a link between them and Sarah Fanny Baer (Beer, Beers, Bear), born 1876 in Austria (or Germany) who married Morris Silverman about 1895, please contact me. Thanks for any information you may provide. Kathy Notify Administrator about this message?
