My husband is in possession of postcards written to his grandmother, Minnie Janet Silverman, b. 1898, San Francisco, CA. Two of these are from Minnie Baer (spelled Bear on one) who was living at 2525 35th Street, Cleveland, Ohio; the postcards are dated (no day or month)1908 and 14 Dec 1909. We think she may have been a cousin, as his grandmother's birth certificate states that her mother's name is Sarah Bear.
The Silverman family lived primarily in the San Francisco area, but during this time period, roughly 1907 to 1910, the father, Morris Silverman, lived in Dallas, TX where he operated his tailor shop. Another daughter, Isabel Silverman, had visited him in Dallas in 1908, according to a postcard sent to her inquiring about her safe arrival back in California.
If anyone has any information about Minnie Baer in Cleveland, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Thank you.
