I'm looking for anyone who may be related to the Baers from Nurnberg Germany. My grandfather was born in Nurnberg but was a stoleaway on a ship to America, alone when he was 14. His name was Andreas Friedrich Albrecht (Bar)Baer b. Jan 14 1889. He changed his name to Burton F. Baer after coming to America His father was Johann Michael Bar (b. 6-28-1863)mother Babette Susanna Biro (b.4-8-1866) He lived in NYC and worked for an uncle in a meat market...left the city and moved to the Albany area later. He had a sister (Marie) in Germany that died in a house fire..a brother John in Germany. His father was important in the military and mother lived into her 90's but was blind. Anyone with a possible link would be great.
