We are connected. My gr. gr. gr grandfather was Joseph BAER, a brother of your David BAER. Their parents were Hannah (FUNK) and Jacob BAER. Hannah's father was Joseph FUNK of Singers Glen, VA.
Like your David, many of the BAERS were brick and stone masons, including my Joseph BAER who passed down the knowledge and trade to his son, and so on, so that we still have stone masons in my generation. That's six generations in my family, that I know of.
