I am definitely confused reading all of these messages and responses. Some of the information I have dug up both in libraries and various places on the internet do not totally coincide.
I am a descendant of Johannes Bär and Regina through their son Johan Adam married Margaretha Peter, daughter of Jacob Peter and granddaughter of Casper Peter. Johannes d.c. 1755 leaving 4 minor children, Johannes, Johan Jacob, Johan Adam and Barbara. Orphan's Court records in Northampton Co. show Johannes and Barbara over 14 in 1758 and Johan Jacob and Johan Adam under 14 in 1758. I am aware of Peter Grow/Groh and the fact that Regina marries him after the death of Johannes. What confuses me is Johannes/Regina and Johannes/Elizabeth Haberlig - is this the same Johannes??? He first marries Elizabeth, has numerous children, the youngest of whom is Johannes, immigrates in 1743, Elizabeth dies ???, he marries Regina and has 3 more children. Johannes, the son who is over 14 in 1758 is the son of Elizabeth then, and not Regina? What happens to the Weisenberg Church record that says Johannes, the elder was 48 when he died (and that would have to be circa 1755)? And is this the Johannes Bär who signs the agreement to erect Ziegel's Church?
As you can tell, I am confused and would certainly appreciate anyone straightening me out.
The book you mention at Mastof's - is it still available do you know? I am actually planning a visit there shortly and will look for it.
