This may be of some help. In my geneo listings I have an Andrew Kauffman who married a Fraena(Freena)Baer (dau. of Henry)from Pennsylvania.
It would make sense that if there was a granddaughter she might have kept the Kauffman name. This was @ early 1700's but my line was from his brother Christian Kauffman who married Barbara Baer, (also dau. of Henry). Barbara died in 1801. It might be a place to start a search.Let me know what happens. Nancy
