A posting identifies Prudence Badgley b ca 1774 as d/o Anthony Badgley b Hampshire CO VA ca 1774 and states also that Prudence and her husband Henry Steele migrated to IL in 1797 with the large group led by David Badgley s/o Anthony. I am seeking documentation of this because a) none of the old accounts of the migration that I have seen mentions Prudence and Henry Steele as participants; b) Anthony is thought to have died "before 1775" as he is not mentioned in Hardy CO land records after that date; c) the list of Anthony's children that I have does not include a Prudence and ends with an unnamed daughter baptized in 1763. Although the area Anthony settled in in 1768 was then Hampshire CO, which was formed 1754, his location in everything I have seen is given as Hardy (formed 1786). Can anyone document Prudence as Anthony's child and as a traveler in the 1797 migration? Please contact direct <ectocus@rcn.com>.
