Hello Karyn,
I was searching Google when I noticed your posting. I knew an Agnes Backus who was from New Jersey when I worked for a savings and loan company in Austin, Texas. This was between June, 1984-June, 1987.
She had a sister named Kazimiera who was a travel agent, but I do not know her last name. I do know that Agnes Backus was Polish but I do not know her maiden name.
The Agnes Backus that I knew was widowed at a very young age when her husband died unexpectedly around 1986. They had no children. She told me that her husband was related to the actor Jim Backus.
Is this the same woman who you say died in Seabring, Florida? If so, my heart goes out to one who has suffered so much tragedy in her life.
