Colleen, I found a John Bachus in my book but there is very little info on him. His father was Simon born 20 Oct 1761 -no birth place given. Simon married Gesia (?) McCormick. They had four children: Charles, Hebe, George, and John - no birth info on them. What is interesting is that Simon's father, Sylvanus Bachus (born July 5, 1738 in Windham VT) was the son of John and Sybil (WHITING) Bachus. This John was born Aug 17, 1698 in Windham, VT. It is believed that he later moved to Woodbury, CT. He died June 17, 1769. On May 12, 1725 he married Sybil WHITING, born May 8, 1709, daughter of Rev Samuel and ELizabeth (Adams) Whiting of Windham, VT. There is more information on the ancestry of this family.
