Hi,
My great grandfather was Israel Backlund, born at Bjurholm, Sweden on July 14, 1848. He married Maria Helena Charlotta Amillon who was born at Nordmaling, Sweden on May 29, 1853. They had nine children, most of which were born in Husum, Vestnorland, Sweden. The children were Johan, Frans (went by Frank in Canada), Fred, Gus, Axel, Hulda, Laura, Fanny, and Ester. The family farm was in Husum, but was sold in 1923. All the boys except Johan mover to Canada in the early 1900s. Frans went back to Sweden to look after the folks in 1911, but returned to Canada in 1923. We don't know where Johan went or if he had kids. He was born in 1878. One daughter also moved to Canada and married a man named Anderson. I think this was Hulda Maria Backlund. If you or anyone can shed some light on the desendants of any of these children, it would be greatly appreciated.
