Backers in NJ & PA 1800s

Johnson V. Backer (b. 1828), Elizabeth Backer
(b. 1824/25)& Rachel Backer (b. 1829/30)were
living in Wyoming, Luzerne Co.,PA with a Charles Barney in 1850 (per census). PA listed as birthplace.
However, in later censuses & Johnson's obit it says he was b. in NJ. Obit states that he was b. in Newton, NJ; came to PA as a small boy. Obit also says he was survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Ringelmann & Mrs. Elizabeth Hoagland of NJ.
Johnson used "Baker" as last name from abt 1860 on. He married Mary Etta Toomey & lived out his life in Wyoming, PA (d. in 1900).
