I am a direct descendant of Christopher Backer of Lebanon, NJ (father of Elizabeth). Interestingly, my husband is a direct descendant of Nicholas Melick (husband of Elizabeth). We didn't realize this until we got married last year. Anyway, Christopher Backer was from Lebanon, NJ. I am currently looking for his ancestors. However, I have information regarding his son, Matthias, and their descendents, who subsequently moved to the Mendham and Chester, NJ area. Please let me know how I can help you.
