Seeking information on the ancestors and descendants of Joseph Bachmann and Johanna Waltenspiel, who married in Einhart, Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, in 1794. Joseph was the son of Franz Joseph Bachmann, a master cooper in the village of Aftholderberg, and Franziska Gruber. Johanna was the daughter of Joseph Waltenspiel, a farmer in Einhart, and Elisabeth Scholter. Joseph and Johanna (Waltenspiel) Bachmann had at least nine children: Anna Maria, Matthaeus, Walburg, M. Cresenz, Franziska, Anton, Andreas, Kunigund, and Josepha. I am a direct descendant of this couple through their son Anton, who married Margaretha Maier in 1833. For generations the Bachmann family were coopers (barrel makers)and moved from village to village in Upper Swabia. Hope to hear from some of you.
