my 6th greatgrandfather was heinrick bachmann who was from switzerland and emigrated to america in 1739 on the ship jamaica galley. i believe the port of entry was philly and the name was spelled many ways, ours was baughman. i myself am looking for family befor 1628 with the bachmann surname being from richerswil, canter zurich, switzerland
