Eugenia and Gary,

Did Samuel Wilson Bachman also have male children? Might there be any male patriline (Bachman surname) descendants alive today? This could be important since there is a lack of proof and some contradictory information over whether John Bachman's ancestor was Johann Georg Bachman who settled in Upper Saucon township in PA about 1717. Y-chromosomes test have been done on some descendants of Johann which link him to some living Bachmans in Canton Zurich, as well as to a Henry Bachman who came to PA later and settled in VA (see http://www.phillipsplace.net/genealogy/surnames/bachman_dna.html ). If there are male Bachman descendants (presumably from Samuel or perhaps the youngest son William Kunhardt Bachman), it might be possible to establish whether the Rev. John Bachman was likely a descendant or at least a close relative of Johann Georg.
