I am interested in John Bachman 1790-1884 who was a Luthern pastor and well-known naturalist in Charleston. His biographical notes have been cited as the source of the story that Johann Georg Bachman (1686) was a secretary to William Penn. I know that John Bachman was born in NY and that his father was Jacob. I believe that this Jacob was a grandson of Heinrich (b. 1717, Johann Georg's oldest son and my ancestor) through Heinrich's son Christian. Does any one have any further information on this John Bachman's ancestry?

I would also be interested in learning more about descendants (two of John Bachman's daughters married sons of J. J. Audubon).
