I am trying to research my german lineage. My GGGrandfather was Johann Melchoir Bachmann born in Hessen Germany. My GGrandfather was also named this and was born in Hessen Germany.

I have quite a bit of information but have alot missing. Am trying to find out how to gather more information from Germany itself but am new at this and am totally lost.

Any tidbits would be greatly appreciated.
